Westbound CPR passenger train passing through the Othello tunnels on the former Kettle Valley Railroad. Coquihalla River in foreground. When the railroad was contructed through the Coquihalla a wall of granite seperated the valley from the Fraser River valley at Hope. The solution was to drill four tunnels in alignment through the canyon, crossing the river twice. The line was abandoned in 1960, but the tunnels are now part of a provincial park and can be accessed by the public.
